Real Def indeed! Raw Corp released this hype 12" on the
B-Boy Records off shoot, Boogie Down Records in 88. Produced by
Spyder-D this record contains two winners from this New York crew,
I'm Real Def and Troopers on the Mike. Both
tunes have surfaced on a couple of compilations from the same
year, one of which is the B-Boy Boogie Down Sampler.
Troopers on the Mike has Raw Corp getting down over the
beloved Assembly Line break and firing fresh b-boy lines.
I'm Real Def is mid-tempo head nodder choked full of
reverb and lyrical bravado. The tune also features Red Alert's
echoing "Wooord Up" giving the cut a sort of urban psychedelic
feel while Joe Tex shouts "I Gotcha". They definitely
got me... This one's a tough one to dig up but look for the B-Boy
Boogie Down Sampler comp as that one seems to turn up from
time to time.
