We end the Journey with another Philly banger. Larry Larr was
affiliated with the 3XDope Posse who put him on and produced his
solo album Da Wizzard of Odds for Ruff House. I know
some people who dis this album but I think it's actually not that
bad. Sure there are some losers but there are some definite smokers
with that classic Chuck Nice production. Neighborhood Puppet
mows you over at high tempo with a little Fred Wesley horn pepper.
Line 2 Line, Rhyme 4 Rhyme and Ya Know What I'm Sayin
are two more smart ones. Jazz It Up takes on the Average
White Bands' Love Your Life horns made almost untouchable
by A Tribe Called Quest.
Those are good ones but the one that floats my cloud is Keep
On Y'all. How can you go wrong with a Tramp beat sped up
with fierce lines spit all over the place? EST pops in for the
silly chorus, but the beat just smokes! The vinyl's a little hard
to spot but the CD turns up for pennies...
